The standard setup for the sat nav, just don't work ! :( :(
And this ball, is just too large, but it does help the germs of an idea, that is brewing in my head :) :)

I search thru my box of so called useless bits
and come up with this little pool ball :) :)

Its just about the right size :) :) Altho at this time it's just a ball. !

After a bit of sand down with some steel wall, to just take the shine off the ball.
It's time to drill a hole and insert a threaded ferrel :) :)

An idea is germinating
as I think about each stage and look at what I have :) :)
Looking good, altho the bolt is just for show as its way too long !

This means the hole we drilled into the top of the console, is now too large !
So hunt around for a washer to fit :) :)
This washer.after a little bit of filing is a perfect fit :) :)
To I angle the edge of the washer

I offer up what will become the front caliper and Mudguard Mount.
It takes some imagination as at the moment is just a length of rectangular 6mm thick metal plate.
I use masking tape to start to shape mounting plate.
Don't look like much at the moment
But I am working from my feelings and I trust them :) :)

mmmm the cardboard template, shows the missing part of the mount

I am now happy with the old mount plate,

That I got wrong and is now held to a new sheet of 6mm thick plate
and clamped to some wood, that CBRTIM's front wheel is sat on

Have allowed a bit of overhang for shaping
The mount plate later on :) :)

Time to start cutting out the replacement mount plate.
When I use cutting discs I prefure to quickly mark the cut lines
Time to remove the old incorrect mount plate
and it leaves hood cutting lines for me :) :)

So far my hands are not shaking !
So I carefully and slowly let the cutting disc do all the work for me.
Time to replace this cutting disc !

and this part of the mount plate is nearly cut thru
A quick tap and out the plate I don'y want comes apart

OOOoooooppppssss
My knees gave way and I landed on the grinder and broke the cutting disc !
Time for a rest !
As I had got carried away and missed the body signs that normally proceed before my knees give way !

After a couple of hours rest, I am back in the workshop..
There is always an awkward bit left after using a cutting disc in Tight Places !
Easy to solve tho, just Cut into thin strips and with pliers keep bending and they come away :) :)

And a bit o filing smooths the edges
And the new Mount Plate is starting to take shape now :) :)

with flap wheel an tacking the rough edges off So as not to cut myself
Now it's time to start measuring time for the 2nd mount

I am not good when using rulers
In fact I rarely bother with them,
but as I will have 2 mounting plates that will be identical.
I need to be as careful as I can

Marked the cut areas of the mount plate

The mud guard mount,
Just using off cuts to see if I can find a way that I am happy with ?
